Bukit Tenggi

Today we went on a family adventure to Bukit Tenggi (bukit = hill). It is about an hour drive from KL up in the mountains. The terrain in Malaysia is really quite beautiful when you get out of the city. On the drive out/up of town it is like a war zone of cars. The average car in Malaysia is a 1.5 liter engine so some of these hills are just too much. The big trucks are CRAWLING and when I say crawling I think Emily could actually crawl faster. It is the crazist thing to see all these vehicles chugging along. Thankfully our Civic has some get up.

Bukit Tenggi is a collection of a few resorts which are all touristy. The first is a French theme resort. You can see the castle in the picture. Really weird to see this on the top of a hill in Malaysia huh? Anyway it is a hotel with a cobble-like street in the middle with shops, games for the kids, rides and a "show". The guys in green are the show. Kyle and I could not help but snicker. It was a little sureal to see these terrible dancers in a third rate theme park. Have to say all very Malaysian. Samantha and Emily loved it, of course.

We also went to a beautiful Japanese tea garden. It was at 2000ft above sea level so the weather was so nice. I can't remember the last time I felt a cool breeze. We toured around here for a while. There is a tea house where you can dress up in a kimono but Samantha was not interested. It was nice just to be outside.

On our way back down the mountain we stopped at a Rabbit Farm. Now this was a sight to see. Imagine a really old rest stop with a pin of rabbits out back. Then cross a mini road and they had some deer and donkeys in another area. All a little too gross for me. Kyle and Samantha fed the bunnies while Emily and I just tried to stay clean.

I also posted some pictures of the other resort's golf course. It looked very nice. Kyle will have to make another trip back to try it out.

All in all a fun family day.
